I have the greatest respect and admiration for Mother Nature, she has lessons in colour and style from which each of us can learn.
Being a self-taught artist, I have studied the styles of the great masters, both past and present, this has helped to equip me with the techniques, then nature provides such an abundance of subject material as inspiration.
As a realist/representational artist, my passion for trying to capture glimpses of nature in detail and endeavouring to render them in clean, clear natural colour is the challenge and inspiration that drives me to strive for continual growth and development. This approach seems to work for me, as the vast amounts of chemotherapy over these past years has destroyed much of the imagination and motivation to paint.
It's the Glimpses of nature that coaxes me forward.
